Intel Arc Rumors Wrong, AMD RX 6500 XT Problems, AM5 Lifespan

Intel is NOT delaying Arc GPUs, as confirmed by simply asking. AMD’s RX 6500 XT x4 lane layout could be a limiter to performance. AMD is considering X370 + Ryzen 5000.

  1. Well hold on Steve hold on. Note the wording. They said they are "targeting" Q1 of 2022. When you work in design and consumer deliverables industry, the way that is worded, while truthful, is meaningless to your question. Just because you set a "target" doesn't mean you'll meet it if there are delays. For example, I myself was "targeting" being a billionaire by the time I was 25…… let's just say that target was waaaaaayyyyy off.

  2. Thank you Steve for reporting on the Airforce it's a really neat looking case and InWin has a nice store in the EU unlike many other manufacturers. Definitely considering it for my next build.

  3. Do you like having to eat your hair and Bob back like a girl while you do your videos? It’s super annoying and obvious. Doesn’t Dungeons and Dragons have a hair length code? Or is it your boyfriend that likes your locks?

  4. why in the world would you want to put a 5000 series ryzen in a x370? I paid $145 for my x570 back in jan 2021…i just check the price and its only gone up $40. If youre spending that much on a cpu (5000 series) then why the hell wouldnt you just get a x570 ? GN you make no sense bro

  5. @4:30 I've been stuck running GPUs at 1x, Pci 1.0 1x on my old mac pro (rtx2060) and pcie 3 1.0 on my main machine (secondary card, 2070 super runs on a 1x riser, primary runs on 16x) and I really don't notice much difference – eth dag loading takes longer, loading textures and stuff into vram can take longer, most actual gpu performance in gaming, gpgpu is not affected. Pcie 3.0 4x for a lowlowend card is plenty fine.

  6. with a mobo standard more likely to hang around for a longer time, i am much more inclined (able to justify) to get a much higher model of mobo. with intel only having the same standard for 2 generations, i know i will not be upgrading the cpu with the same mobo, so i will only get what works now

  7. AMD: "We want to promise that you can upgrade the CPU in your motherboard to get you to buy it, but then when you actually go to upgrade we want you to have to buy a new motherboard anyway."

There's no way to spin this that makes AMD look good.

Intel did one foray into this back when LGA775 was supposed to support Pentium 4 and Core 2 and everyone had to buy new motherboards anyway. Now they change the socket every generation even if the CPU needs the same number of pins (three versions of LGA2011, or was it LGA2066).

Keeping a socket for more than one CPU generation just isn't worth it.

  8. MPG321URDE and XG321UG. How can two seperate manufacturers come up with almost an identical concoction when they have 10x the entire alphabet and numbering system to decide their name?

  9. Honestly, until this GPU price frackfiesta dwells down, I'm not gonna get a 4k monitor, regardless of how much they can pleasure my eyes. Pretty sure most players feel the same. If your GPU can barely handle FHD why get a 4k monitor?

  10. Meh, AMD is trying to help the low-end to mid-end gamers get a GPU that can run the latest games at 1080p on medium to high settings. They can't control what scalpers do with the cards. They're trying to make it less attractive to scalpers but at this point it's a futile effort. Not their fault though lol

  11. so… they are doing x4 gfx But motherboard vendors are Still not finally scrapping the antiquated x1 pcie by simply putting a few (4) active x4 pcie on the boards good for new x4 5gb ethernet, M.2 x4 add on cards, & apparently gfx, will we see x4/M.2 slot hardware gfx/encoders this year

  12. my father has a B350 with 2200G, to be honest I'm not even thinking of upgrading anytime soon. All he is using the PC for browsing the net and checking email.

  13. I spent the (for me at the time) big money on an X370 for a 1600x gambling that future AM4 CPUs would be good. I'm glad it did turn out to be the case. Being able to upgrade to a 3900xt was amazing. I'd love to plunk a 5950x in sometime in the future. That should let me get by for a long time until ddr5 platforms are settled

  14. Intel was a bit misleading to you. Yes their first GPUs will come in the first quarter, in about 1-1.5 months, but only in OEMS first.

Might be q2 to be able to buy the gpus by themselves, at the best the very end of q1.

  15. Look I love you Steve, but you kind of took what intel told you a little uncritically. They officially announced yesterday that desktop ARC is indeed delayed to q2 2022
